Before you edit
Use this only on documents you have the right to change, such as your own letters, forms and drafts. Changing a certificate, mark sheet, ID, bank statement, bill or any other document to mislead someone is forgery: an offence under Section 336 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, punishable with up to seven years' imprisonment when it is done to cheat. Using such a document as genuine is an offence under Section 340.
