Passport size photo, and a sheet to print
Take a photo, replace the background if you need to, line your head up in the oval, and download two things: a single photo at the exact size, for an online form, and a sheet of copies to print at a photo shop or at home. Everything happens on your own device.
Photo rules differ by country and by application, and they change. Check the size, the background colour and the head position the official guidance asks for, and edit the numbers to match, including the background colour.

Getting it accepted
- Face the camera straight on, with a neutral expression and both eyes open. Glasses usually need to come off.
- Light from the front, such as facing a window, avoids shadows on the face and on the wall behind you. Have someone else hold the phone at eye level, about a metre away.
- Print the sheet at 100%, or “actual size”. “Fit to page” shrinks every copy, and a 33 mm photo is not a 35 mm one. The file records its print resolution so most printers get this right.
