Resize a photo to 100 KB
A hundred kilobytes is a generous limit, and it is usually paired with larger dimensions — passport-style photographs, visa applications, and forms that will print the picture rather than only display it.
Because there is room to spare, this is one case where you should not push the quality down. The tool starts at the best quality and only reduces it as far as the limit requires, so a photo that fits at full quality stays at full quality.
The dimensions below are 35 × 45 mm at 300 dpi, the common passport-style size. Change them if your form says otherwise.
Set below already, and editable. The numbers on the form you are filling in are the ones that count — application rules change, and this page is not the authority.

Questions
- What size is a passport photo in pixels?
- A 35 × 45 mm photo at 300 dpi is 413 × 531 pixels, which is what this page starts with. Some applications specify pixels directly and some specify millimetres; use whichever your form gives.
- Will printing a 100 KB photo look bad?
- At passport size, no. Print quality depends on the pixel dimensions far more than the file size, which is why this page sets 413 × 531 rather than something smaller.
